Whether your company's needs are job specific or general in nature, igm has a welding robot or cutting solution that will fit your needs.  We offer:

  • Complete family of Pre-Engineered as well as application specific  "Turn-Key" welding robot systems including  small "compact,"  the popular "Medium" size systems, to our large "slide and gantry" systems.  Plus igm's new "ModulARC " series. In addition to our welding systems, igm offers a line of specialized oxy-fuel and plasma Cutting plus our state-of-the-art Beveling systems.

  • Four robot models to choose from including: RT280, RT330, RT370, &
    RTi-2000

  • igm's " ibs"-- high-precision  beveling system

  • Complimentary line of robot and piece part manipulators including single-axis headstock/tailstock, two-axis tilt/rotate, & our two-axis L-Arm (skyhook). Payload capacities ranging from 150Kg (330 lbs) to over 50,000Kg (110,000 lbs).

  • Proven Sensor Technology:  Touch Sense, Arc Seam Tracking, and Vision systems

Our latest addition to the igm product line is the ModulARC series featuring igm's revolutionary new P2W technology. These Pre-engineered welding robot cells are available in four models: TT-250, RP-250, RWM-250, and FW-250. These competitively priced systems are designed & built with ease of use in mind. All ModulARC systems are mounted on a common base for ease of installation, as well as making the entire system mobile for future facility “workflow” adjustments.

igm's small systems, much like the ModulARC, are designed to handle small to medium size weldments. Our "standard" small systems however are not palletized, although this option is available. They are designed and assembled as individual components and may utilize higher capacity part manipulators than those of the ModulARC series.

igm's medium systems may be the most popular of all our turnkey systems. These systems, due to their extended work envelope and positioner payload capacity, are probably the most  flexible and versatile of all igm systems.  These systems usually combine one of our robot models with a servo controlled rotary gallows, and may include a servo controlled linear floor track or overhead slide. The rotary gallows range in length from 59" to 98", while the floor tracks and slides start at almost 10ft. long, and go to over 65ft.  The part manipulators available range from simple, single axis headstocks to multi-axis L-Arms (skyhooks) and tilt/rotate positioners.  Payload capacity ranges from 330 lbs. to over 50,000 lbs.

Our large systems  are customarily utilized in industries such as Earthmoving/Construction, Railroad, and Shipbuilding. These systems can incorporate multiple robots, servo slide systems, and enormous floor-mounted gantries. These massive systems may include up to 16 synchronized servo axes (per robot), all programmed and operated through a single user-friendly teach pendant. igm not only accepts the challenges associated with designing and implementing systems of this size, but does so with great enthusiasm!

igm's cutting & beveling systems  are the best that the industry has to offer. Our "ibs" beveling system comes as either gantry or slide systems, with a specially developed cutting head allowing bevelling of arbitrary contours with varying angles. A constant land height is guaranteed by a Laser sensor performing on-line surface measurement and edge tracking, even compensating for heat distortion. Off-line programming using CAD data is done via an integrated DNC-interface. The ibs is not only capable of top and bottom bevels (without rotating the plate), but will achieve these bevels with an accuracy of ± 0.5mm!

With the release of our new off-line programming package ips, "Off-Line Teaching" has never been so easy. igm's Programming Studio utilizes the actual K5 teach pendant to do all off-line functions! The K5 teach pendant plugs directly into your PC through an interface plug provided with the system. Every robot function existing on-line is available off-line, everything. Not only are all robot functions available, but they are executed at actual speeds, making it an invaluable tool for cycle time and robot path analysis. Furthermore, since the off-line/on-line programming methods are identical there is no need for expensive training, if you can program the robot on-line, you can program it off-line, period!
